The briefEdexcel, leading provider of internationally recognised qualifications, required a partner to develop the front end interactive element of an innovative exam results analysis tool that was to be made available to all Edexcel centres.
The solutionDDL created an original Flash web application that reads information from Edexcel's back-end exam database and converts this into a framework that produces analytical data that can be manipulated through a range of variables.
Results Plus provides Edexcel centres with clear information on how they have performed overall and by subject. The tool breaks information down by student, by form class, by subject, even by question - providing invaluable information to teachers. Centres can plot their results against last year’s results, the national average and other schools and colleges.
The ability to manipulate their results into easily interpreted charts and graphs allows centres to discover strengths and weaknesses from an individual and group perspective.
Exam papers can also be viewed and, in the instance of papers that have been marked electronically, individual's answer sheets can be downloaded. This creates a 'one stop' online resource area - where all related information is available for users to view and analyse.
Results Plus provides an attractive, functional, informative front end to Edexcel's vast database - allowing information to be sourced, analysed and compared very simply. This information can then be used to formulate strategies to enhance teaching, to provide accurate feedback to students and, where necessary, to create effective revision plans for exam re-sits.
